"You Just Might Fancy Some Chips"

Written: February 11, 2010

Oh, what's right in front of me
I know you're seeing it, too
Being that I'm not from these parts,
Here's to us & our futures, too

Oh, I'm back to that old-time feeling
The one they've often written of in books
But I'm guessing that what you're thinking
Falls right in-line with my wide-eyed looks
And with that piano player in the corner
With an ear tuned to Talk Radio
Like a silent reporter

Oh, what's right in front of me
I know you're seeing it,too
Being that I'm not from these parts,
Here's to us & our futures, too

Oh, I'm on to that old-time feeling
The kind you hear about by listening
And your voice is mellow poetry
If only for a few grains of sand passed
And yellow ginger flavors my night's dinner
But your thoughts keep my mind well-fed
And I'd love to hear you sing

Trowbridge Road, Train Station & Michigan State University

I may or may not add an audio track to this. We'll see/hear about it later on!

I'm sharing on the internet like I'd like to share things in real life!

"Golden Jet Plane"

"Don't Waste Your Lunch"

"Gerald Laird Throws Him Out"

I'm throwing the titles out the window for this because there's a lot of the same material repeated, although it is presented in different ways, including an Irish/Scottish accent that I took on for some mysterious reason. It was not planned, only slightly appreciated for a little while by myself. The Detroit Tigers were playing and it excited me. Baseball excites me and I wish I had a better understanding of the love it seems to be energized by!

You better turn on oyur charm! your oyur charm! What makes it acceptable for me to keep it the way it is? (-noDnyl)

THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!
THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!
THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!

Pizza Pie With You

Pizza is the pleasure of my Generation
The toppings, they are many,
Whether you eat meat, are vegan, or you are vegetarian
Extra cheese for nights that keep you in the mood
That pizza sure is tasty,
But it is much more tastier to be eating pizza with you

Pizza is the essence of what life seems to be
Combining the ingredients that are our favorite ones to eat
There are many orders that can be made
At the dinner time of a day
That are so delicious to enjoy with many people,
Many hands
Many mouths,
And many plates

Why not make it pizza
When it comes time to decide
Just what will satisfy the sudden hunger
You and your friends all feel inside
Mmm, pizza is sure tasty,
But it is much more tasty to eat that pizza with loved ones eating pizza side by side

Pizza's got the chemistry,
And us, we've got the guts
Pizza's got the oven baking,
And us, we'll love it through the crust
No, I'm not talking about a salad,
Though a salad's good by pizza's side
I'm talking up that lovely, steamy, gleaming pizza pie

Pizza is the pleasure of my Generation
The toppings, they are many,
Whether you eat meat, are vegan, or you are vegetarian
Extra cheese for nights that keep you in the mood
Sprinkle on some seasonings or eat it in the nude
That pizza sure is tasty,
Pizza's my kind of food
Yeah that pizza sure is tasty,
And it is much more tasty
To be eating pizza pie with you!

That pizza sure is tasty,
Pizza's my kind of food
Yeah that pizza sure is tasty,
And it is much more tasty
To be eating pizza pie with you!

On a Golden Jet Plane

Are you asking questions / Or do you just look for answers?
Maybe the answers just find you
Are you asking for more than what's given
Or do you just accept what is not?
Could it be that you don't ask for anything
And all you get is already lost
Maybe the cost of living better
Is paid for with your own heart's beat
What you live for isn't asked for
Unless it's you that is gonna pay
We never know why there's a light
We never show when we are called for
Something that just ain't feeling right
Unless you know just what you're after
You'll probably be there a while waiting
Until one of you steps through the door
After midnight and before the next day
There's going to be time to be playful with
If you've got a lot riding on a golden jet plane
You better turn on your charm

Are you asking questions / Or do you just look for answers
Maybe the answers just find you
Are you asking for more than what is given
Or could you just accept what is not
Could it be that you don't ask for nothing
And all you get is rightly lost
Maybe the cost of living should back-fire
Then it's paid for with your own heart's beat
What you live for isn't asked for
Unless it's you that's gonna pay
We never know why there's a light
We never show unless we're called upon
Something calling you into the night
Unless you know what you're after
You'll probably be there a while waiting
Until one of you steps through the door
After midnight and before the next day
There's going to be time to be playful with
If you've got a lot riding on a golden jet plane
You better turn on your charm

Are you asking questions / Or do you just look for answers
Maybe the answers just find you
Are you asking for more than what's given
Or could you just accept what is not
Could it be that you will ask for something
And all you get is not to be lost
Maybe the cost of living better
Is paid for with your own heart's beat
What you live for isn't paid for
Unless it's you that's gonna pay
We never know why there's a light
We never show unless we're riding high
Something that makes it feel all right
Unless you know just what you're after
You'll probably be there a while waiting
Until one of you steps through the door
After midnight and before the next day
There's going to be a time to be playful with
If you've got a lot riding on a golden jet plane
You better turn on your charm

Are you asking questions / Or do you just look for answers?
Maybe the answers just find you
Are you asking for more than what's given
Or could you just accept what is not
Could it be I should ask you for something
And all you get cannot be lost
Maybe the cost of being better
Is paid for with your own heart's beat
What you live for isn't worked for
Unless it's me that's gonna pay
We never knew why there's a light
We were not shown unless we had the sight
Something I hear through every day
Unless you know what you are after
You'll probably be there a while waiting
Until one of you steps through the door
After midnight and before the next day
There's going to be time to be playful with
If you've got a lot riding on a golden jet plane
You better turn on your charm

Learning a New Language (RE: TRV$DJAM - FIX YOUR FACE VOL. 2 - COACHELLA '09)

by Zach Power

Possessed to write into the rainy night
Mix tapes spawned the Saturday that is really Sunday
You say it's a lie that is holding me back from life
No no no it ain't like like that
I'm doing fine
But I could be better with you in front of my eyes
Like right there between my legs
I liked it then
I'd like it now

Jay-Z
I'd like to introduce ya to my baby girl
I don't have the company of her lips so fair
Or her perfect hair
But I can feel and taste her in the air

The Who ooh ooh choo choo the train whistle glistening
Like a magic carpet ride
My mind isn't blind it's divine
I'm fixing my spine by writing these rhymes
Forgive me? Live with me.
Live with these breaths and release all your stress
Boo hoo don't cry don't bother wit that
Rat a tat tat tail spin for the win

Mikey J hey hey whaddya say?
There ain't nothin to be found
Nothin to be found
Feelin' proud

My pops mi madre la dee da
It's all good
My little sis is winning big too if ya need a clue

Raccoon Racoon Raccoon Racoon
Is that how ya spell it?
Is that how you'd like to smell it?
Mixing this with that, tip your hat, don't make it smack, don't make it wack, don't let this pass

Raccoon climbing trees like the King he be
Waving me to be up in this raving party on display
It's right here, where you wanna be
It's right here, where you wanna be

All of my home boys and home girls now ya know
I can't do this without you there, keep it going
All of my home girls and home boys now ya see
This dream can last forever if ya believe
You know and I know
This is when we drop the beat
Slow down the speed
Retrospect like fine dining
Sun shining inside your eyes and wine blessed yes it's been caressed by the Gods I guess

Dafted Dafting gotta give it up to those French gangstas
Boom Boom Bippity Bop
Bodies bouncing between those silky sheets
Lesson learned, dollars earned, smoked down and lit up
Like a larger than life light bulb in the palm of your freaky hand
Cross the river, deliver doozies exuse me excuse yourself
Us Us Us Us Who are we, anyways?

Hey what's up Nicky H?
I never called you that before I thought of this
And the best thing is, I know you like it
When I say it like that
The only reason I had to say it was because you have a good line yeah you told me
"It takes two to feel not so crazy"
Well I hate to be the one to be too crazy
So I left you for a minute so I could come back to say Hey!

All of this because sometimes we feel the same
Sometimes we feel ashamed
Sometimes we like to laugh
Sometimes we let it pass
Sometimes we rock and roll
Sometimes we let it fold
Sometimes we kick it hard
Sometimes we lose the charge
Sometimes we find our spark
Sometimes we get too hard
Sometimes we lose control
Sometimes we hold on tight
Sometimes we cannot fight
Sometimes we sing out loud
Sometimes we bring the sound
Sometimes we let it hang
Sometimes we blow up like the World Trade
Sometimes we let it flow
Sometimes we just explode
Just Explode Just Explode We want it We want it, babe!

Now that's G
Yea for real this is ZP
Lyndon Mesenoyes
You may see a messy noise
I may say no yes
It's funny stuff and good luck
It's breaking down barriers that we built just for the experience
Regulated in the hip hop way
Pay day is just moments away
High times in everybody's favorite escape
Light rhymes for the traveling state of mind
Wait up weight down
Stay up and throw it down
Around the same time as you see her shake it,
She looked back to wink that she heard you blink
Keep those eyes locked on the prize
Keep those eyes up in the sky
Don't go underground too far or else you'll get dirt in your eyes
Keep those eyes locked on the prize
Keep those eyes up in the sky
Don't go underground too far or else you'll get dirt in your eyes

Reply, react, and Remind
Reply, react, and Remind
Reply, react, and Remind
Reply, react, and Remind
Reply, react, and Remind
Reply, react, and Remind
Now Rewind

Yeah, this is for you, DJ AM
Because I didn't know you, but I let your sound hit my ear drums and that shit was tight
For real. I could not fake it if I tried
You're somewhere out there today/tonight
Same thing that brought us you brought these words out onto the page and I'll get it right
Will not stop will not let myself be broken down
No compromises, no surprises, no second life, no second wasted
I'm elevated, we're all related, we're all celebrating
Kings & Queens all around
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
It's so loud
It's so loud!
It's all good!
It's all good!

I do not know you in sight
But I know you in sound and thought
You may feel that you have been lost
But I assure you, it's nobody's fault
That the wind blows

Thank You.

Jazz At The Mercury Café (February 2009)

by Zachary L. Power
revised & edited by Tony & Zach

She asked me to write amazing lyrical nonsense.
I spent nearly half an hour making my way through the sticky suspense.
Holding loosely this pen and decidedly allowing my hot tea space to vent when
Suddenly, the band blasting horns, strings and snare drum began to pack it all up and began to discuss the failing economy.
Through windows, the street was alive with the sound and I saw a bus pass as the reverb resounded, resolving to play nice with my own fleeting thoughts.
Inside, the music played on as if to no cost.
What's lost from the record that spins or is spun?
What dispute can arise from these swells of air?
No ill effect can I trace from the tips of their fingers, and
You would never have known not to look for a singer.

The Color Blue's Mission Statement (April 2009)

by Zachary L. Power
revised & edited by Tony & Zach

Colors work best when they don't have to.
Feel any urge to be a color they will not.

Don't tell me this color makes red appear in your mind.

I will not place belief upon you.

You may have written this in a different color, but I'll insist that this paragraph has spun itself a web around you in the color Blue.

Memorize This (07/12/2009)

by Zachary L. Power
revised & edited by Tony & Zach

You shouldn't have to ask me
What it is that jacks me
All they ever can see
Are air dust flecks that mask me

You say you've listened carefully
But I've just begun to speak
We chase the tail that leads so closely
As you and I pick up speed

I've noticed that you like me
Not so much as I like thee
Water flowing through your seas and gullies
Ferns, caverns, and divine pine trees

Lessons learned in your school highly
Refrain to repeats all too unlikely
These truths explained to not take kindly
To agitated female mosquitoes stinging
Sucking, bleeding holes to feed whole colonies
They bathe and sleep with all eyes widely
Opening into new mornings until nightly
They pray to moons to save their babies

Back in the deep woods of our slavery
We know now what or who wills bravery
This present that you gave me
Will greatly feed me daily

Stripped down to down-filled draperies
I'll lay down with you comfortably
If comfort is what your aim seeks
I'll scope out this whole galaxy

Moments crystallized by unsurprised findings
Comment upon blue-blackened bird seeings
Excuse the altered wording
Unless it was your phrase I'm using

Improvements on home-front sidings
Work our bodies one more to chime rings
Deciding that we've been once cleaning
Memorize this and get back to me

The New Idea - Part Two (07/12/2009)

by Zachary L. Power
revised & edited by Tony & Zach

Straight out of Spain-land
Fate wheeled fortune round again
Listen. You will hear of tales so true
Listen and I will hear yours, too

Nothing ever seemed so cabaret
As when you sang and banged on those ivories
Keeping safe, the bread and medicinas were in the mill while your book bled
Mama was the best woman you ever could have met, and
M.C. Rebel, once in the woods, replied that she brothers Pedro
She is the morning that will not be wasted
Besides, bedside life repels the likes of some strangers

Venture past the thorns and promise me
You'll make it through the Gates of Eternity

"Let the fair eyes guide you"
"Let the fair eyes smile upon you"

She followed her heart through the Rabbit Hold in her bedchamber
For that hole in the wall leads to the dining hall so Hellsome and eyeballs so handsome and flesh so old and un-day-lit that something inside her revealed to her senses complexless dutifully drawing her chalk hand
Unlocking the gold key's home to escape with her shoes on

Oh, brightening moon of freedom, well balanced in the Spanish sky
I've asked you before, and again I'll ask you now to cry
to cry for the fallen
Those struck down, un-badged
To cry for the living
Those held down by our not-Captain
To cry for the fear-struck
those targeted wrongly
To cry for the Mother
She is beautifully tempered

Straight out of our land, my destiny glows
To bring her the fortune that only I bring
And this gospel slogan hymn from within
Is all freestyle expression that we are all dressed in

The valley where trains slide sideways, exploded
These deathless distractions by Anonymous factions
Govern no graces, Unnamed, with no traces
The steam engine's rail cards delivering us riches
To man, woman, child, to receive proper rations

Chica niña dreams of the day when the light will show
She speaks softly of her family's needs
She'll soon know to look up, seeing her own Destiny

Oh, bright moon of rebellion
You cry out for our freedom
I've asked you before and again I'll ask you now to cry
To cry for the fallen
those struck down, un-badged
To cry for the living
Those held down by our not-Captain
To cry for the sickened, the vain, and the wicked
To cry for those of us that, at times, may hunger
To cry for the children that cry out for their fathers
To cry for the children that cry out for their fathers
To cry for our brothers and sisters who wait, still imprisoned
To cry for the lovers who escaped but run recklessly
We cry for the Full Moon
La Luna, La Luna!
We cry for the Full Moon
La Luna, La Luna!

The New Idea - Part One (07/12/2009)

by Zachary L. Power
revised & edited by Tony & Zach

Here comes the new idea; it's flowing straight through ya
Here comes the new idea; it's flowing straight to ya

Here comes the new idea; it's flowing straight through ya
Here comes the new idea; it's flowing straight to ya

Straight out of Lansing, Michigan
Fate wheeled a fortune round again
Listen. You will hear of tales so true
Listen and I will hear yours too

Nothing ever seemed so commonplace
As when you put the stone back in its place
Dirtied up your shoes, restored his face
La madre y El padre van ya sabes

The doctor warmed her Mama
And chica niña chilled her mama with her frozen feet

Venture past the thorns and promis me
You'll make it through the gates of eternity

She followed her heart through the warm black night's glow
For that night was calling her like a Red farm alarm

Oh, crescent moon of confusion hanging low in the Spanish sky
I'lve asked you and again I'll ask you now to cry
To cry for the fallen
Those struck down, unbadged
To cry for the living
Those held down by our not-Captain

Straight out of our land, my shyness sings
To bring her the fortune that only I bring
And this gospel slogan hymn from within
Is all freestyle expression that you all have dressed in

The arbor where fawns lay to speak with each other
Sweetens in the sunrise until all tree leaves have eaten
Breathe in the wonder up-swept by adventure, and
Breathe out the sensation that haunts like dark playgrounds
The smoldering branches, the faint tune it launches
Perspire not, for legions of of our saviors await past the smoke stacks

She followed her heart to the root of some magic
for the exciting aptitude affording her shiny gold key

Oh, crescent moon of madness hanging high in the Spanish sky
I've asked you and again I'll ask you now to cry
To cry for the fallen
Those struck down, un-badged
To cry for the living
Those held down by our not-Captain
To cry for the sickened, the vain, and the wicked
To cry for those of us that, at times, may hunger
To cry for the children that cry out for their Fathers
To cry for the children that cry out for their Mothers
To cry out for our brothers and sisters who wait, still imprisoned
To cry for the lovers who escaped but run recklessly
We cry for the Full Moon
La Luna, La Luna
We cry for the full moon
La Luna, La Luna!
